Estimates, Guesstimates & pure Conjecture!

Being a non smoker it is all to easy to simply sit back and laugh at the preposterous figures created by the anti smoking lobby as they march on with their attempted brainwashing of the dumb & dumber of our society.

Having just spotted this on facebook: The Passive Smoking Scare: When Ruling Class Propaganda Masquerades as Science by Sean Gabb. I got to thinking about just what a giant con this has all been and what it will, eventually, cost this country.

We had the SCOTH COMMITTEE declaring that, based on the lowly and discredited Jamrozic's figures, smoking had to be banned 'for the good of the people'. Now Jamrozik somehow came up with an estimated saving of 11,000 lives per annum if second hand smoke was no more but nobody actually knows where this figure came from-it is pure conjecture, yet the 'Scoth Committee', in the face of absolute defeat had no option but to use this highly flawed (and debunked) 'study' to be able to back up their predetermined report for government.

Now you have to be impressed by this difinitive number for it is a precise number, not an approximation but a precise 603,000. So they've counted them have they? How many came from Britain? How many form India or China and how did they prove that all these people died from any possible effect of SHS? Let's see now:
Cause of death:
     Heart Attack (aged 66) - SHS
     Liver Disease (aged 72) - SHS
     Brain Tumour (aged 32) - SHS
     MRSA (aged 57) - SHS
     Cerebrovascular Disease (Strokes) (aged 42) - SHS
      HIV/AIDS (aged 11) - SHS
ansd then we can add on:
     Infections & Parasitic diseases
     Malignant neoplasms (cancers)
Unintentionals such as:
     Digestive diseases
     Diarrhea diseases 
Intentionals such as:
     Suicide
     War 
     Violence etc 
and then we have:
     Tuberculosis
     Malaria
     Fires
    Alcohol use disorders
    Skin diseases
    Sudden Infant Death Syndrome 
 and there are a whole lot more that can be listed but I doubt I know them!

All of the above have, at some time or other, been related to second hand smoke-because it gets in the bloodstream. You can get bitten by the biggest mosquito living but if you smoke (?) "oh well, he/she smoked as well you see, they were always surrounded by smoke; what can you expect?".  The lowest of the low of course is the despicable claim that SHS is the cause of SIDS (Sudden infant death syndrome). By its very definition SIDS has no known cause so how can anyone but a complete anti tobacco fanatic possibly claim that SHS is now the cause of 2,250 very sad cases in the USA last year! Incidentally, I've yet to meet any parents who stand, lovingly watching their newborn sleep whilst enjoying a 'Capstan full strength'! But then there are no depths to which these people will stoop.But back to our figure work and we find that the BBC reported that "Smoking 'kills five million a year"

Almost five million people died from smoking-related diseases across the world in 2000, researchers estimate.So now we have an 'estimate' of 5 million, which I must admit is a considerable improvement on 603,000, but again, where have they got the extra 4.4million from I wonder? The World Health
Organisation have decided that 8 (+) million people could die from tobacco related diseases by the year 2030, so we have gone from 0.6m to 8.0m in only 3 reports which just goes to show you that these people simply clutch at straws. They dream up a figure and then employ researchers, statisticians & other dubious un-scientic people to create 'back up' for their figures.
ASH also come up with this idiotic statement: 

"Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death and disease in the UK. About half of all life-long smokers will die prematurely, losing on average about 10 years of life." Note the word "about", yet another one of those words favoured by the medical men that cannot prove these guesstimations!

Let's have a look at this absurdity of wordage. "losing on average about 10 years of life." I will ask again, who knows at what time and on what date anyone is supposed to die? Answer: No-one but the medical men presume to know and therefore use their guesstimations to create a theory designed to frighten or impress, depending on which side of the fence you are sitting. I'll apologise in advance for using this but it amplifies the absurdity of ASH's statement:- "The nine-year-old Singaporean boy, who died in a car crash in Victoria, Australia on Monday, will be buried in Melbourne on Wednesday." Now just how does this little lad fit into ASH's idiotic claims? He's not even reached 10 years of age (bless him!) Would they claim that he would almost have certainly been in the presence of SHS and therefore would count in their spurious statistical nonsense?

That is, of course, if we totally ignore the fact that cancers have increased with industrialisation and even more markedly with the increasing use of diesel! But then ASH have never been too keen on presenting Dr Kitty Little's true scientific discoveries have they!

I have news for ASH, 100% of smokers die just as 100% of non smokers die-what does age matter? In a country where the Welfare System is so overstretched, who on earth wants to be one of the unlucky one's that suffers from longevity, alone, ignored & friendless in some home or other where it has cost them their life's savings, their house and any other property to pay their way in this home! ASH want a nation of misery, that's all it is!
An anti ban leviathon posted the following on facebook in response to some of these weird and wonderful figures:

I think that sums it up perfectly. The previous decades have all provided people with wealth & possessions which people are loathe to part with. That is probably why the licensees simply sat and waited to be put out of business-and still are! According to people like Linda Bauld (another of the statistcally un-scientifice payed whore of anti tobacco) this pub isn't really shut! It's not part of the 12,000 businesses that haven't been forced into closure since july 1st, 2007. In fact, behind those shutters and window boards the ex-licensee is earning a fortune from all those non smokers that frequented his smoke free premises. In fact, there were so many of them trying to force their way into his premises he had to close on the advice of Health & Safety!
Do you see just how much utter tripe the anti smoking lobby come out with? Do you even begin to realise what a giant scam this really is, orchestrated by the World Health Organisation knowing that they have no chance of controlling the worlds illegal drug trade. They are happy to try and destroy a nations income (Malawi) yet have no interest in curtailing the biggest cause of pollution and respiratory diseases -->          Exhaust Fumes!
 
I wonder what fantastic figures AEF (anti exhaust fumes) organisations would be able to come up with, after all, how many vehicles are there compared to smokers?
